Therapy Continuum
The experienced faculty provides individualized mentoring in order to assist students providing definitive treatment for their patients.
Focus: Prosthetics and Applied Rehabilitation in Function and Aesthetics
Exclusive Tutorial – Dr. Alain Landry
This exclusive tutorial is for dentists who want to treat more complex cases of Cranio-Mandibular Disorders (CMD). This course includes the essential concepts of Professor Slavicek, electronic condylography, computerized cephalometry, with an emphasis on Controlled Mandibular Repositioning (CMR), a method developed by Dr. Alain Landry in 1994.
Orthodontic Continuum
Prof. Sadao Sato developed the MEAW (Multiloop-Edgewise-Arch-Wire) technique which has proved to be very successful for corrections of malposition of the teeth, as well as the denture frame analysis defining the relation between occlusal plane and jaw-facial skeleton.
Focus: Orthodontics in Craniofacial Dysfunction
Exclusive Tutorial – Prof. Mariano Rocabado
This exclusive tutorial covers the Importance of the temporal Fossa in the stability of the Cranio-Mandibular System. Prof. Rocabado will introduce his concept of Tri-Centric relationship: Cranio-Cervical, Cranio-Mandibular and Occlusion.
Advanced Condylography Tutorial
Clinical Instrumental Analysis (Condylography) has been proven to be an important part of the diagnostic approach in interdisciplinary dentistry. The non-invasive method of Condylography monitors the individual patient movement of the mandible within 6 deg. of freedom. In the center of interest stands the translator and rotatory component of hinge-axis movement.
Focus: Clinical procedures and diagnostics of condylography
Advanced Orthodontic – Prof. Sato
Based on Prof. Sato´s Continuum Course „Orthodontic“ he developed the „Sato Advanced Orthodontics“.
It offers the opportunity to deepen the knowledge finding answers and solving problems to complex cases on a theoretical and practial basis.
Therapy Continuum
Content
The aim of the Therapy Continuum is to guide participants from the basic initial findings through the therapeutic prosthetic process. The final diagnosis is followed by the definition of treatment objectives and an initial management plan for the patient and the overall therapy. Occlusion concepts, function of the masticatory system and esthetics must be combined in order to reach a long-term stability of the prosthetic rehabilitation. Important subjects are splint therapy, pre-prosthodontic orthodontics, full denture, pre-prosthodontic implant, temporization and final restoration. Participants will be taught the VieSID prosthetic concept.
Structure
The course is divided into level I and level II. The courses in Austria are organized with and at the University Clinic of Dentistry of the Medical University of Vienna. The course takes place in the cutting edge premises of the university clinic and use the latest equipment.
The level I course is divided into 4 modules (each module consists of 3 days).
The level II course is divided into 4 modules (each module consists of 3 days).
Topics
- Final diagnosis and creating a management plan
- Diagnostic equilibration
- Initial treatment: splint therapy
- Diagnostic wax-up and digital functional smile design
- Full denture occlusion setup
- Wax-up ‘mal-occlusion’
- Pre-prosthetic orthodontics
- Pre-prosthetic implantology
- Therapeutic provisionals
- Final prosthetic implementation
Target Group
- Applicants for this course must have successfully completed the Basic Curriculum
- Applicants need to present 3 fully documented cases, according to VieSID standards.
Orthodontic Continuum
Content
According to Prof. Sadao Satos’s concept the main focus of this orthodontic course is to supply diagnostic and therapy methods to the trainees. The Continuum specializes in theories on development and treatment of the malocclusion, fundamental concepts of gnathology
and orthodontic practice. During this course all participants are invited to present their own patient cases to get support from the instructors and the course director in order to elaborate all necessary treatment steps.
The modular structure of the continuum allows that the participants are guided through the complete treatment process.
Structure
The courses in Austria are organized with and at the University Clinic of Dentistry of the Medical University of Vienna. The course takes place in the cutting edge premises of the university clinic and use the latest equipment. At the end of the course paticipants will pass an examination and will receive a diploma for the successfully passed course.
The course consists of part I and part II.
Part I: 6 modules (module A consists of 4 days, module B-F consists of 2 days each).
Part II: 5 modules (each module consists of 2 days).
Topics
- Theories on the development of Malocclusion
- Orthodontic practice
- Fundamental concept of gnathology
- Treatment of malocclusion
Target Group
- Applicants for this course must have successfully completed the Basic Curriculum
Advanced Condylography Tutorial
Content
Condylography recordings are useful to program condylar housing of semi- and full-adjustable articulators, according to the individual patient moment patterns. The data may also be used to judge the mobility and motility of the TMJs. Based on standardized so-called boarder movements (protrusion, mediotrusion r&l, open/close) a clinicalinstrumental preliminary assessment of the functional status can be performed. Habitual functional movements (bruxing, speech, swallow, etc.) can be analyzed and integrated into instrumental analysis in the articulator.

The course consists of part A and part B (each part consists of 2 days, which can be booked seperately)
Part A focuses on hands-on-sessions. Split up
into groups of max. 5 persons, the participants get the chance to learn the advanced procedures of clinical condylography in detail.
Part B is designed as a lecture where participants learn the basic principles of condylography diagnostics, occlusion and TMJ.
Topics
- Clinical procedures of condylography
- Condylography diagnostics
Target Group
- Applicants for this course must have successfully completed the Basic Curriculum
Exlusive Tutorial – Dr. Alain Landry
Content
In CMD cases regarding internal derangements (ID) and degenerative joint disease (DJD), these approaches are ineffective and sometimes ill-advised. Therefore, Controlled Mandibular Repositioning was developed by Dr. Alain Landry in order to increase the success rate of internal derangement cases and of degenerative joint disease cases. This program enables dentists to acquire new knowledge and develop new competencies, which they can incorporate into the heart of their practices for the wellbeing of their patients.
