Utz et al. (2021) recently published an assessment of centric to maximum intercuspation length variation in adult patients.

Their main results (0.86±0.52 mm; min 0.05 mm; max 3.14 mm; mean 0.47 mm) seem to exceed those published in Slavicek (2000; The Masticatory Organ, 2002, p 190).

This contrast is only apparent and derives from the different techniques used by the authors to reposition the mandible.
